Dr Liew Woei Kang graduated from National University of Singapore, School of Medicine in 1997. He went on to complete his speciality training in Paediatric Medicine, sub-speciality training in Paediatric Allergy, Immunology and Rheumatology at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH).
In 2007, Dr Liew received MOH HMDP award to do advanced training in Paediatric Allergy, Immunology and Rheumatology at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, Australia.
Upon his return, Dr Liew Woei Kang was appointed an adjunct assistant professor in Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School and Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. He received several research grants from the National Medical Research Council, SingHealth Foundation and KKH Research Centre to pursue clinical research in paediatric anaphylaxis, drug allergy, primary immunodeficiency diseases and Kawasaki disease.
Dr Liew continues to be very active in his professional and academic pursuit. He is President of the Allergy Clinical Immunology Society of Singapore; and Executive Board member of the Asia Pacific Society for Primary Immunodeficiency. He is a Past-President of the College of Paediatrics and Child Health Singapore, of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore; and a Past-President of the Asthma & Allergy Association. Other professional associations include being awarded an international fellow of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology; member of European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, European Society of Immunodeficiency, and Paediatric Rheumatology European Society.
Prior to starting his own practice, Dr Liew Woei Kang was a consultant paediatrician in both the allergy service and rheumatology/immunology service at KKH. He is the founding paediatric immunology specialist and continues to be a visiting senior consultant to KKH. He was with SBCC Baby & Child Clinic (Gleneagles) from 2011 to 2019.
Dr Liew Woei Kang is currently a medical specialist and shareholder of the Singapore Women’s & Children’s Medical Group. Paediatric Allergy Immunology Rheumatology Centre is a clinic operated by the Singapore Women’s & Children’s Medical Group.
